Snow/Icy storm 2012

We were starting to wonder if we were going to see any snow this winter. Well we saw some snow alright! At the begining of the week the news started predicting snow, and a lot of it! Boy were they right. Sunday it snowed about 1-2 inches and church was cancelled. We Western Washington folk are not used to very much snow, and certainly were not prepared for a full on ice storm! Wednesday morning around 1am the snow began falling and at 7am when we woke up, found our neighborhood covered in about 6inches of snow! Lindsey and her family had about 12inches at their home in Lacey! Later that day and into the next we got freezing rain that turned anything and everything it touched into a popsicle! Although beautiful, we had a huge power outage due to trees and their branches falling EVERYWHERE! Tree limbs were falling all day long along the green belt in our neighborhood...kinda scary to watch. We lost power for about 30 hours and many others went without power for about 3 days! Lance finally got to use his generator he bought a few years ago for just such an occasion. So we were able to stay relatively warm. This certainly was one storm we won't forget!
