I really need to start remembering to take pictures of the things this girl draws so I can have them in our books! Kaylee's ability to look at something and then draw it, never ceases to amaze me! This is one of my favorites. She drew this yesterday! She still proclaims that she (exact quote, haha!), "DOES NOT want to be a big fancy artist, it's just a hobby" LOL!

Frog and Toad School Play
At the end of September when the letter came home from school talking about the up coming school play, I thought nothing of it. (I was actually surprised an elementary school would take on such a big project...we didn't have school plays till jr. high!) The next day Kaylee came home begging to be in it. "Well, looks like you have to audition", I said. She was thrilled! She told the music teacher she wanted to do it, got the script, decided which part she wanted to audition for, practiced, set up her audition time, and got the part! (Bird #2 to be exact!) All of this without any prompting from me. This turned out to be a huge commitment (which I was ok with since she was so into it, and did basically everything herself, minus the driving to and from practices.) I honestly though had no idea how good she really was until the night of the show! I was FLOORED! And I'm not just saying that because she is my daughter and I think everything she does is great, she really was amazing. Facial expressions, voice projection, body language, EVERYTING was so in character I had to remind myself she was a 3rd grader! (the youngest class in the play). She absolutely loved every minute of it, and says she can't wait till next year's play! I was speechless watching her perform. Lance and I just looked at each other like...Is that OUR daughter up there?! I was epic!!! Way to go Kaylee, so proud of you!

Young love!
Kaylee got her first love letter a couple weeks ago at school! It was the cutest thing! Last year Kaylee became friends with a boy named Aiden, and apparently he's had a crush on her ever since. I could tell she was kinda excited when she found out at back to school night that he was in her class, and sits next to her. It's all very innocent and I think it's adorable! Kaylee came home and showed me the note he handed her right before she got onto the bus. I wanted to post this here so she will have this saved in her book forever! We had a little chat that night about boys and crushes and what's ok and what's not. All things she already knows. A girl doesn't forget her first crush. ;)

Zoo field trip
Last Thurs. all the 2nd graders at Kaylee's school took a field trip to the zoo! It was tons of fun! So cute to see her with all of her little friends.
Kaylee and her super cute teacher Mrs. Wills. I swear she looks like she could be Kaylee's Mom (or older sister!) Kaylee just adores her, as do I!!!

Kaylee's Baptism!
It was a beautiful morning for a baptism! Kaylee has been counting down the days till her baptism for forever it seems like! I remember when she turned 7 she was sooo excited that, "That means next year I'll be 8 and I can get baptized!" I love watching her testimony of the Savior and her desire to follow Him grow! It was a beautiful baptism service. She was the only one from our ward this month to be baptized. It was nice to have the full program to ourselves. Lynda gave a beautiful talk on Baptism and Lindsey gave a wonderful talk on the Holy Ghost. It couldn't have been a more prefect service! We had friends and family over to our house afterwards for a luncheon. My heart is so so happy! Tonight as I went in to talk a bit with Kaylee I found her reading her scriptures and writing in her journal. She then gave me a little talk about how important she thinks writing things down in our journal is and that "I'm going to read my scriptures every night!" What a wonderful example she is to me! I just love her to pieces, what a sweetheart!!! Happy Baptism Day Kaylee!
Kaylee wore the dress that I was baptized in for her baptism, it was really special!Tuesday, May 31, 2016
Kaylee's Well Check
Today we had Kaylee's 8 year well check. She is doing great, and is my healthiest child. I can't even remember the last time she was sick, not even a cold or anything since I don't know when! Here are the stats!
Height: 50inches (46%tile)
Weight: 52lbs. (30%tile)
Vision: 20/20
So thankful for my healthy growing girlies!

Kaylee's Birthday Party!
It's been a crazy busy month, but we wrapped up the last of all the birthday parties Friday night! Kaylee had such a blast! We had tons of "Rainbow" treats, each child got their own little canvas to paint (and aren't those mini easels adorable!?), a fun scavenger hunt outside, and a pinata!
Kaylee and her best friend Bella
Kaylee and Chase! Sadly Chase moved out of our ward a month or so ago. He and Kaylee were the cutest together, such good buddies! We're glad that they aren't too far away.
Happy birthday Kaylee! I am so proud of the young lady you are becoming! Always including everyone, and doing what's right. Your happy, outgoing personality is infectious! You are a natural leader (even if it gets you in trouble with Mom on occasion) I am proud of the example you set for your younger sisters, I can already see how much they look up to you. Love you so so much!
